ABC11 called The Great Raleigh Trolley Christmas Tours the hottest ticket in town, and now is your chance to see why! Tickets to all Holiday tours will be released privately to members of the Great Raleigh Trolley Newsletter before going on sale to the public. In previous years, this tour has sold out within the first 24 hours. Signing up for the Newsletter in advance is free and will help to ensure you are able to claim your seats before tickets go on sale the public at large.
Holiday Tours run every day in December except Christmas Eve and Day.

THE SANTA EXPRESS - Kids and parents hop aboard the Great Raleigh Trolley for their chance to enjoy a ride through Downtown and story time with the guest of honor himself...Santa. The Big Guy in Red will visit with each kid personally on the Trolley to review their wish list and pose for pictures. Surprises, refreshments, holiday music, lights, and more await those riding The Santa Express. Each experience lasts approximately 60 minutes, includes a trolley ride with Santa, and plenty of time for pictures at the North Pole. This tour is best for toddlers to young grade schoolers.
OAK CITY HOLIDAY SIGHTS & HISTORY - During the holidays, the State Capitol and Downtown Raleigh come alive with Christmas magic. This family-friendly tour lasts approximately 60 minutes with visits to Historic Oakwood, the North Carolina Executive Mansion, the giant City of Raleigh Christmas tree, Saint Mary’s School, and much much more.
GRISWOLD LIGHTS & SIGHTS - Some of the largest and most spectacular holiday displays in the country call Wake County home. After a quick journey through Downtown Raleigh, this family-friendly tour heads out of town to see the biggest and brightest Christmas lights and decoration displays in Wake County. Inspired by Clark Griswold’s love of the holidays, this tour is approximately two hours in length.
SANTA MEET & GREET - Avoid the long lines and hurried photos, and instead come hang out with Santa Claus for an incredible 30-minutes at the Great North Pole in Downtown Raleigh. There’s no better way to experience the magic of the holiday season.
OAKS & JOKES HOLIDAY BAR CRAWL - Combine the sparkle of Downtown Raleigh during the holidays with an exciting party… this tour is 90 minutes in length, for adults 21+ only, and includes stops at Raleigh’s hottest nightlife destinations.

All Santa Express Tours $30 - Infants under 2 in lap no charge
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: $30 - Infants under 2 in lap no charge
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: $35 - Infants under 2 in lap no charge
All Holiday Tours begin Downtown at the Great Raleigh Trolley North Pole Attraction - 424 S. McDowell Street next to Poole’s Diner.
All Tours end at The Great Raleigh Trolley North Pole Attraction except the Downtown Sights & Nightlife option which ends at Coglin’s Raleigh - 226 Fayetteville Street Raleigh, N.C. 27601 - two blocks from the North Pole.
Please arrive fifteen (15) minutes before the Tour’s scheduled departure to CHECK-IN with the Great Raleigh Trolley representative at the North Pole.
Free and paid parking is available nearby. We recommend parking directly next door at the Wake County Parking Deck at 216 W Cabarrus St. For more information and maps → godowntownraleigh.com/get-around/parking
All Holiday Tours will make a stop in Downtown Raleigh for refreshments and a bathroom break.
All Holiday Tours, with the exception of the Santa Express, allow for guests to bring beer or wine. Please enjoy responsibly.
Holiday Sights Tour tickets are non-refundable. In the unlikely event a tour is canceled by the Great Raleigh Trolley, a full refund will be provided. Non-attendance and or non-participation does not entitle a patron to a refund. All sales are final. The display lights viewed on the tour are not owned or controlled by the Great Raleigh Trolley. The Great Raleigh Trolley cannot guarantee the visibility of specific lights on the tour. The route, stops, and tour lengths are subject to change without notice.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Tickets are available online only. There are no printed tickets; the check-in process will be done electronically.
Tickets may be transferred to another individual. Because of demand, tickets may not be transferred to another tour date or time.
Clothing - dress comfortably for the cold weather; avoid open toe and heeled shoes.
Seat Belts - the Great Raleigh Trolley is not equipped with seat belts.
Food is prohibited on the Great Raleigh Trolley.
Accessibility - the Great Raleigh Trolley is not handicap accessible. Boarding and departing the Great Raleigh Trolley requires patrons to go up and down narrow stairs.
Weather - in the case of severe weather, including but not limited to heavy rain, high winds, lightning, ice, snow, and or extreme cold, the Holiday Sights Tour may be canceled with a full refund. Ticketed guests will be notified of weather cancellations as quickly as possible.
Parents are responsible for supervising and securing their children while on the Great Raleigh Trolley. Children may not move about the Trolley while it is in motion.
No Private Rentals - Group sales are in lieu of private Holiday Sights Tour rentals.
Beer and wine are permissible on the Great Raleigh Trolley. Glass and liquor are prohibited.
Absolutely no smoking, vaping, or tobacco products on the Great Raleigh Trolley.
